As someone who works in game development full time as a sound designer, I'm interested in all aspects of the development process, including art. I've always loved the aesthetic of pixel art so have decided to learn some of the basics.

I've started learning how to use the pixel art program Aseprite and instead of jumping straight in with a big landscape, I wanted to try creating a few smaller pieces to get used to the software and shading techniques. I found some inspiration on Pinterest and tried to replicate these in Aseprite. You can see my versions below.

Taking what I learnt about lighting and colours from tutorials by Adam Younis, I created my first original piece!
I'm trying to work with limited colour palettes until I have practiced this more and then I can bump up the options.
